Miss Orla Poppet
This is Orla.
There’s a little of the Brontë sisters about her. You can imagine her strolling in the manicured gardens on her father’s parsonage somewhere in the lush English countryside. Her days are spent embroidering by the parlour window, and at night she attends glittering country balls. She’s wistful and a dreamer.
She’s part of florie and millie's 2024 Heirloom Collection, featuring exquisite clothing and the finest craftsmanship that reflect the essence of traditional artistry. Each of my heirloom dolls is lovingly crafted by me with exceptional care and attention to detail, ensuring that she is not only beautiful but also a cherished lifetime treasure. Each of these dolls is one-of-a-kind and yours alone.
Let me tell you a little more about her construction. Just like an old-fashioned vintage cloth doll she’s handcrafted from seeded calico and her hair, which is braided around her head, is made from wool yarn. The details on her face are embroidered and hand-coloured. Orla is wearing a deep blue velvet dress in Regency style with pretty matching georgette sleeves and handmade collar. There are classic pearl buttons running down both the front and back bodice. Under her dress she’s wearing a white lace-trimmed petticoat - as is proper for a well-raised young lady! Though her brown leather boots and warm green socks tell another story - she’s up for adventure, whether it’s climbing a tree or taking long walks along the moors.
Orla stands about 46 cm tall and would make the perfect gift for a grown-up child all the way through to those who are just young at heart. Please note that her clothing and accessories have been constructed with small fasteners and parts and would definitely not be suitable for infants, toddlers or younger children.
