Miss Tabitha Poppet
This is Tabitha.
She’s the teeny-bopper of this year’s collection. She likes to poke fun and joke around but she’s also oh-so-sweet. She especially loves her party dress and insists on wearing it wherever she goes! She’s sure to add a sprinkle of whimsy to any playtime.
She’s part of florie and millie's 2024 Heirloom Collection, featuring exquisite clothing and the finest craftsmanship that reflect the essence of traditional artistry. Each of my heirloom dolls is lovingly crafted by me with exceptional care and attention to detail, ensuring that she is not only beautiful but also a cherished lifetime treasure. Each of these dolls is one-of-a-kind and yours alone.
Let me tell you a little more about her construction. Just like an old-fashioned vintage cloth doll she’s handcrafted from seeded calico and her hair, which is gathered in two space buns at either side of her head, is made from yarn. The details on her face are embroidered and hand-coloured. Tabitha’s wearing her favourite skirt which is made from vintage fabric scraps that I’ve woven to create a fabric that looks a little like a spring garden. It’s highlighted by tulle and a ribbon frill, and for modesty sake, I’ve insisted that she wear her pink tights underneath! Her red Mary-Jane leather shoes add a little fun and complete the picture of the perfectly dressed little poppet.
Tabitha stands about 46 cm tall and would make the perfect gift for a grown-up child all the way through to those who are just young at heart. Please note that her clothing and accessories have been constructed with small fasteners and parts and would definitely not be suitable for infants, toddlers or younger children.
